The question about raising the minimum age for a driving license has been pushed to the headlines because of the growing amount of automobile accidents.

Whether it would reduce or even prevent accidents of this sort or will simply do no good is the heart of this argument.

With the very busy and rambunctious schedules of teens now days, the easy transportation by way of a vehicle is essential, and a parent may not always be available to tend to their son or daughter's needs.

There is not a huge need to worry for the teens parents of their kids making immature decisions like staying out late or having too many people in their vehicle because the law prohibits these actions. A huge debate about raising the age for driving is the fact that more 16 year old drivers crash and die than 21 year old drivers.

The problem with this logic is that the main reason that this age group has the highest crash rate is that they are the least experienced.

If the driving age is raised, the only thing that will change is the age group of the inexperienced drivers.

At first glance, it seems like a good idea to have the driving age in Massachusetts raised to 18, but it is not as beneficial as it seems.

It would be unfair to punish the group as a whole for the actions of a few.
