Christmas Memory Essay Literacy Homework Year 4
This story teaches readers to value their relationships with one another and to notice the little, special things in everyday life.In the short story "A Christmas Memory," Capote displays style and two of the recurring themes, memory and reminiscence, and friendship among social outcasts to reminisce the life of a young boy and his older cousin's cherished bond.
The year he has chosen, though, is that of the last Christmas three friends spend together. The evening continues like this until my aunt announces that supper is ready. It is curious that as children, humans have the ability to observe and remember details of specific situations and instances yet lack the ability to describe them.As I open the door and step into the house, the smell of different Christmas odors surrounds me and makes my mouth water.I hear voices laughing , talking, and inquiring who's at the door.
Maybe because of the special atmosphere that you can feel everywhere, in shops, restaurants , pubs and even streets, where you can hear the magical carols, or maybe it's because of its religious background, but what I can tell you for sure is that I can't think of anything more exciting than the image of the entire family preparing the Christmas Tree or fixing the Christmas dishes.
